Green House Gas GHGA (Portable Analyser)
The Green House Gas GHGA (Portable Analyser) is an easy to use, high performance Greenhouse Gas Analyser that measures the main greenhouse gases as well as temperature and humidity. It can be used to provide evidence of carbon reductions on a site and allow the saving or generation of money with the use of carbon credits.
The GHGA is a portable standalone equipment used to record/gather periodic data (test samples) around a factory/industry, over an extended period of time. The comparison of the data recorded over time can confirm any carbon reduction changes that a company has made. It is also possible for problem areas to be identified, which will allow corrective actions to be taken. If you want a flexible and portable or fixed system using any type of Sensors please see our Smart Box product range.
The data (test samples) is scientific evidence that the new procedures or equipment that has been introduced, is leading to carbon reductions and energy saving. This is ideal evidence for use in energy audits.
The GHGA is highly stable to minimise the calibration cycle and has a linear response to cover a wide dynamic measuring range. Its functions include instantaneous readings, data logging, alarm thresholds and optional evaluation software. With both mains and battery operation, a rugged housing, an internal self test function and a simple to use.
Analyser is ideal for laboratory or site use.

The GHGA functions include on site instantaneous readings, data logging to the cloud server, alarm thresholds and optional evaluation software. Simply unpack the GHGA, place it in the required location, power it up and start accessing your results. The Kit requires mains power or optional rechargeable Battery on request. The GHGA comes in a rugged housing ideal for site or laboratory use.
The GHGA stores the measurements locally and automatically transmits by Wi-Fi, Mobile SIM (3G/GPRS/GSM) or Ethernet (LAN) all the data via the internet to the cloud servers. This gives you peace of mind that all data is backed up for later analysis and can be accessed at anytime and anywhere, through a secure login.
Background
British Research has a number of research projects in the environmental technologies field. There is no single approach to Environmental Measurement as each situation is different.
That’s why British Research works with our clients to carefully design a system that best suits their individual needs. The field of Environmental Measurement is a developing sector with a lot of challenges; this makes it a very interesting and exciting market in which to conduct research and development.
One such innovative technology was developed for KIGG Ltd. on request by the Indian government. The Indian government required a way of policing the local carbon credit market. A number of factory and polluting complexes were reporting inaccurate carbon emissions and attempting to game the carbon credit market. The government of India wanted a system that they could install and collect emissions reading before improvements and after. British research developed two devices one for portable applications measurements to move around and there other for fixed remote monitoring. This would later be incorporated into the Smart Box product range. Using the Smart Box Platform you can build your own unique Greenhouse Gas Monitoring Systems and add other types of sensors to meet any requirement. The Smart Box System can be installed with varying emissions plug and play smart box sensors enabling for the mapping and modelling of emissions and are integrated with wireless communications ideally suited for any size of project. This can provide invaluable information in relation to an Audit Trail of company emissions or the polluting effects in a pre-defined geographical location. Whether it be just a localised factory or monitoring selected emissions across a city.
What can be achieved?
The concept is to provide an extremely effective, but simple to use system for use either by yourselves or with our assistance, as part of an overall service we could supply. If an analysis is undertaken, actual environmental changes can be empirically verified rather than estimated through various simulation scenarios.
This approach provides provable results and through the use of various Data Mining techniques, variability in local atmospheric conditions (e.g. wind direction and strength) can be taken into account to provide both an in-depth and credible analysis.
In addition to CO2 other GHG gases that can be monitored with our system include Methane, Nitrous Oxide and Hydro fluorocarbons.
Our equipment
British Research produced a range of sensors devices for KIGG which can interact with our application software. These devices were provided to the Indian government for green house gas analysis and for control and policing for carbon auditing.
Bluetooth compatible devices are able to communicate directly with our applications written for a range of devices from PDA’s and Smart Phone’s, up to PC’s and Laptop’s so that immediate readings can be downloaded locally for analysis on your personal device.
The mobile technologies (GSM, GPRS, 3G, 4G) which are embedded into our Global Reach range will integrate with an online database to provide both data storage and analysis to clients over any internet enabled device.
Online systems
If your project involves multiple sensors, large amounts of data storage and analysis or it is located in a remote location, then our Global Reach service will provide you with a robust and cost effective solution.
Information can be obtained via various search criteria on the online database, either for in-house use or for more general access.
It is clear that, in some cases the data could be sensitive in nature, so we could add specific logon criteria and even data encryption to suit the most rigorous data security requirements.
