Capability of being accessed from a Smartphone or Tablet PC

British Research systems give you the advantage of being able to access your system via your Smartphone/Tablet PC. This means that although you are not at your factory you are able to access your system, for example you may have a number of factories over a large area, this means that you can’t always be on site. With British Research systems you may not always be on site but you will always have access to your systems. It gives you the power to manage your system or even identify problems quickly no matter where you are worldwide i.e. while at a business meeting, from the golf course or even while travelling.

“The systems offered by British Research have the capability of being accessed from a Smartphone or Tablet PC. The simple movement of a finger across a screen or the touch of the screen is enough to control the system.”

British Research’s system provides the ability to move from small- stand-alone touch screen modules, with built in network features, through to large scale, multi-screen Management Control Rooms, without the need to reconfigure the arrangement whenever changes are required.

The Control System Development Environment is very user friendly and requires no additional software components to create a solution. Specific built-in modules provide the functionality for many standard control strategies, whilst the Graphical User Interface creator is highly intuitive. Long term trends and audit trails can be stored in an SQL database and graphical results can be displayed using the “drag and drop” built-in components. The network features are mainly TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol) based using open based hardware and include industry standard MODBUS and a low cost USB solution. This approach to Monitoring and Control is therefore suitable for micro-projects or major control system installations.

Our modular approach to system design means we can optimise both cost and operational functionality at each level, so that the overall distributed system is designed to meet your technical requirements whilst ensuring system maintainability and extensibility. Whether it is in a highly sensitive environmental application or a heavy duty steel plant, we will have something to suit your needs.

British Research Control is a system design and implementation consultancy that works with organisations and principal contractors who wish to implement a wide range of computerised measurement and control functions within organisations to improve quality and reduce operational cost, introduce new technologies and processes.

British Research offers some innovative cost effective solutions in the fields of asset and resource management. Enabling us to achieve clients focussed solutions in measure, control & automation systems. Our focus is on the use of open source platforms, as we believe that transparency at all levels is of utmost importance in developing both systems and relationships.

The use of Linux operating system provides for a high quality base and all our systems come fully integrated. The physical system architecture is based on the well tried and tested Multi-layered arrangements found within most complex industrial and commercial SCADA type implementations. This approach does not require any specific hardware manufacturer, but we recommend certain types of equipment based on our expertise.

Automation Control Room

Our Open source software platform is a powerful control system development environment, with a graphical interface, that has been built to provide a modern approach to process control. This Multi Layered approach extends from being able to Multi-Screen control rooms, through a chain of intermediate process stations, localised user terminals and down to the smallest wireless sensors and actuators.

Number of screens can be user defined example 2, 3, 4, 8, 16, etc… this is based on Graphics & Process power of system.

We can work with you to produce Multi Input Multi Output solutions with practical implementation strategies designed into the project from the outset.

Control Station

British Research offers some innovative solutions that are easily configurable, enabling us to design our customers the most cost effective systems.  Part of our package is a compact but powerful User station environment built around Mini ITX hardware. It is the same software platform just in a compact system. Providing:

  • User friendly interface
  • State-of-the-art graphics,
  • Real-time and historical trends,
  • Process alarms

An Operator Station is ideal for smaller projects or can be part of large system. Larger systems can consist of a control room with multi-screen over viewing a single or multiple operator stations and terminals.

Features:

  • Free Open Source Software platform
  • Custom Designed Display & Interface
  • Open platform interfacing enabling the use of huge sections of hardware
  • Flexible System Configuration & Integration
  • Cost effective Design, Build & Implementation process
  • Do it yourself, through our Training and support program
  • Our team of Expert Design Engineers
  • Reduced Maintenance Costs
  • Multiple Level protected user Access control.
  • Optional Alert messaging system using Alarm Acknowledgements

Automation Terminals

British Research is able to offer its customers the latest technology when it comes to automation terminals. This offers the customer the advantage of having a virtually unmanned operation, improving accuracy and efficiency whilst also reducing costs. The flexibility of our systems allows for changes to be made without the interruption of operations or the need for modification of software.

The British Research Touch Screen Control Terminal provides the operator the ability to control and monitor processes from an easy-to-use touch screen. The system can be used as standalone independent system or integrated as part of a larger system that consists of a control room with multi-screen with multiple operator stations and terminals.

This enables British Research to provide a complete integrated package based around an open source platform. Using a Lynux operating System and Open source software British Research is able to provide an extremely cost effective solution. Software is free and hardware is not limited.

Smartphone/Tablet PC

smartphone-tablet-pcThe systems offered by British Research have the capability of being accessed from a Smartphone or Tablet PC. This means that no matter where in the world you are you will be able to access data from your system or even make changes.

The British Research control system platform has gone beyond local access and offers the latest in complete remote control anytime anywhere through latest and innovative Smartphone and Tablet PC devices. This means that the system can be accessed by owners, management and key personnel whether at home, between meetings, while on the golf course or while travelling.

smartphoneThe simple movement of a finger across a screen or the touch of the screen is enough to control the system. The access portal can be made as simple or as complex as is required to control the system.

The advantage of using Smartphone and Tablet PC devices are that they are everyday products that are easy to use but are also simple to change with just the download of the British Research application.
